Anthony Lutterman

My work is an ongoing dialogue between creation and transformation. I am drawn to the space where function dissolves, where a tool is no longer just a tool, but an object charged with meaning beyond its utility. The act of making is not just about shaping materials it is about shaping thought, exploring the point where craftsmanship meets concept.

I embrace failure as a gateway to discovery, allowing broken objects, discarded tools, and raw materials to dictate new narratives. A hammer that has lost its function is not the end of its story; it is the beginning of a new one. Through my work, I explore the tension between what is known and what is yet to be uncovered, constantly questioning the role of tools, materials, and the maker’s hand in the process of creation.

At its core, my practice is an exploration of transformation not only of objects, but of myself as a craftsman, a thinker, and a creator.
