Sarah Reinbold (1993, DE) verdiept zich in de complexiteit van kwetsbaarheid, verlies en herinnering. In haar werk richt ze zich vooral op sculpturen en installaties.

Geïnspireerd door zowel vreugdevolle als traumatische ervaringen nodigt Reinbold de toeschouwer uit om op zoek te gaan naar eigen emoties. Haar werken combineren levendige kleuren en een speelse esthetiek met een onderliggende sfeer van nostalgie en verwondering.

Door het gebruik van diverse materialen, van fragiel keramiek tot robuust hars, vertaalt ze verschillende emotionele dimensies. Keramiek breekt makkelijk zonder zorgvuldigheid, terwijl hars elke druk weerstaat. Dit weerspiegelt de kwetsbaarheid en veerkracht van het leven.

Sarah Reinbold (1993) is a German artist currently living and working in Utrecht, the Netherlands. She grew up north of Bavaria, Germany and moved to the Netherlands to study Fine Art at HKU in Utrecht where she graduated in July 2019. Since then Sarah’s works are all part of the continuously growing installation called “Zwischen Hier und Dort” which origin can be found in the confrontation with loss and grief she’s been enduring. Sarah is circling around the same unanswered questions repeatedly and is always searching for memories from the past. Besides that she is trying to grasp what the present or even future could have looked like.

Sarah’s installations mostly consist of several sculptures that can be recognised as daily objects, but deformed, in combination with colourful abstract shapes which she refers to as feelings. The bright colours remind her of certain attributes of her childhood. The fragile sculptures are a reflection of nostalgia and homesickness. Sarah is working with several materials such as ceramics, plaster and glas fibre. The fragility of ceramics and plaster can be understand as an interpretation of how she experiences her memories, almost too delicate to touch.
